The Theatre Royal is Ireland’s oldest continually operating theatre.

Lovingly restored, this Victorian gem hidden within a beautiful Georgian building, is a jewel in the midst of Waterford’s Viking Triangle.

Easily accessible by rail, car or bus


Eight trains depart Dublin Heuston each day for Waterford Plunkett Station. Journey time approx 2 hours. For precise times please see Irish Rail

This is a metered daily rate car park and costs €3 per day, Mon-Sat 8.30am-6.30pm and Public Holidays 12-6pm. There is free parking outside of these times and all day Sunday.

From Dublin & Galway

Coming from Dublin/Galway follow the N4 onto the Sligo ring road and through several sets of traffic lights until you cross Hughes Bridge. Take the right turn as you cross the bridge, onto Markievicz Road, (signposted for the Town Centre). Follow the one-way system, taking a left onto Connaghton Road. Continue straight up the hill and pull into the second car park on your right hand side - you will see The Model building.
